Ian's March 2025 Newsletter

Metaphysically Autumn, corresponds to the element of Earth, which the southern hemisphere will be entering in approximately nine days when the equinox occurs. Autumn is a period of completion, of endings and tying all the loose ends, so that nothing impedes the way of the preparation for new beginnings. 

Autumn is also referred to as the fall, when nature bares herself by stripping off its old leaves to form the basis of the new growth to follow. This is a process which nurtures and replenishes the earth. This season is a wonderful time for releasing what no longer serves you which creates room for new growth.  It is the time for the old to fall away to allow for the new.

This season is the most spectacular of all four, as if nature is trying, through its brilliant display of colour and beauty, to deny the inevitable end that will soon engulf it. 

Autumn is a fantastic time to let go of everything that is stagnant in your life. A time to review your possessions as well as your emotional and spiritual life. It is also a time of relaxation and reflection in which to review your goals and life.In this year’s January newsletter, I wrote how we were entering a Universal Year 9 and the beginning of a new nine-year cycle. A Universal Year 9 is a great time to make changes in your life as any change will usually work out very well and be very beneficial in this year.I created the 2025 Essence with seven Bush Essences, including Bauhinia, so as to help people be open to and to prepare you for changes that have not yet occurred. Bottlebrush was added to allow the transition of any new change go smoothly, easily and free of overwhelm. Bottlebrush has the great ability to help you break habits and let go of what doesn’t serve you. Both Bottlebrush and Bauhinia are also both highly indicated as we move into Autumn.

In Chinese astrology, we entered the Year of the Snake last month. They too talk about this year being about letting go of the old, signified by the snake shedding its old skin. So, we can see from many different sources that Bottlebrush is an incredibly important Essence for 2025. 

Now is an excellent time to take the 2025 Essence as it will have extra potency when taken in the months divisible by three, such as in March. The other months when you can experience this extra potency will be June, September and December. This is because we are in a Universal Year 9. Last year was a Universal Year 8 when there was a similar effect for the months divisible by four. 

However, rest assured, you will get great benefit taking the 2025 Essence in any of the other months this year. 

On entering Autumn and you're uncertain about your direction in life and need help determining if any change is necessary, I highly recommend working with Silver Princess. This beautiful red flowering eucalypt is excellent for bringing about awareness of one’s life direction and is a wonderful Essence for people who are at a crossroad and not sure of their next step.

The sheer beauty of this tree and its flowers always takes my breath away and the flowers are like lights on a path showing you where to go. The new swirling growth of the bark always gives a sense of activity and movement, what is needed when you are at a crossroads and not sure where to go. Whilst heading back to Perth after making the Essence on year, a journey which usually takes two and a half hours, a green native parrot flew under my car. I saw it being thrown out from underneath the rear of my vehicle and land in bush near the side of the road. I pulled over and found it had survived, though its wing was badly damaged and the bird was unable to fly. Knowing it would starve to death or be easy prey for a fox, I collected the injured bird, placing it in the bottom of a box with a towel over the top and dosing it regularly with Emergency Essence. After exhausting all leads for a vet or Animal Rescue worker in three nearby towns, the bird accompanied me back to Perth where I arrived in the early evening. After many frustrating phone calls, I was fortunate to finally find a vet who was still open and willing to give the bird a home as well as treat him. In my meditation that night I received the message that the Silver Princess is, “for those with clipped wings. It helps them to have a sense of the possibilities and potential in their life and that they will be guided and directed so they can fly high and soar.”

Be prepared to work a little longer with this Essence, up to a month at a time, to help you arrive at that point of awareness.

For someone who knows where they want to go or the changes they need to make but keeps delaying and procrastinating then working with Sundew would be a great choice.

As well as these Essences I’ve just mentioned, from a White Light Essences perspective, Autumn, as I’ve mentioned, correlates with the Earth Essence. This Essence can be taken if you are not clear where you are going on your spiritual path. It is highly recommended that the Water Essence should be the first of the seven White Light Essences to be taken. 

At the beginning of each new season, I recommend taking the Essence aligned to that season, even if only for a seven-day period, though of course it can be taken for longer than that. If you are in the northern hemisphere, you will be entering into spring on the 20th of March and the White Light Essence aligned to Spring is the Water Essence.  I will discuss Spring in greater detail in my September newsletter.
