Find Calm & Joy this Festive Season

Whether you are in the Northern or Southern hemisphere the end of December marks holiday time. Many people at this time also celebrate Christmas, whilst it also heralds the New Year.  The Australian Bush Flower Essences can be of great benefit and have a lot of applications during this festive time and especially in the lead up to it.

Calm & Clear Essence is wonderful to assist an individual relax and unwind as they begin their holidays. The end of the year can also get very frantic with a lot of last-minute shopping and preparation for Christmas or Hanukah. Calm & Clear Essence can prevent you ending up as frazzled as a burnt roast turkey! Some people collapse in a heap physically or get the flu when they start their holidays. Christmas is a time to reflect on the teachings of Christ and one of his basics tenets was to love your brother. Christmas for many people means catching up with family and some members they may only see at this time of year. Unfortunately, these are not always harmonious events and a lot of unresolved family issues can arise at this time including a lot of old resentment. Dagger Hakea is very well indicated as an essence to deal with such family scenarios and it is interesting to note that Dagger Hakea, with its sweet cinnamon scent, is in peak bloom in the bush around the Christmas period.

At the other end of the scale, many people who do not have loved ones or friends and family around to share this day, can be acutely aware of their own isolation and loneliness. Tall Yellow Top can be thought of here. Sadly, it is a time when there is also a spike in the number of suicides as a consequence of these emotions. In the Southern hemisphere, as we move into warmer weather, one has to be more careful with uncomfortable, emotional feelings associated with heat and sun exposure. I always recommend having a bottle of Solaris Essence on hand and taking a dose before heading down to the beach or when outside for prolonged periods of time when it is hot.  You can use it every 10-15 minutes if there is a great deal of discomfort.

The warmer weather and longer hours of sunlight in summer stimulates people to be more active than normal. A dose of Flannel Flower can really accentuate this and it will encourage people to enjoy expressing themselves physically by swimming, bush walking, tennis etc.
