The Amazon Essence
The third Light Frequency Essence, the Amazon Essence, was made in the Botanic Wilderness National Park, Nova Airum, Brazil on Tuesday 23 September 2008. It was prepared on an island on the Rio Negro River, one of two rivers that later join to become the Amazon River. The island is situated in the biggest archipelago in the world.
I had been in the Amazon for some time before preparing the Essence. This was my first time in the Amazon, though I had received the message two years earlier that I would be been making a remedy here. Initially, after teaching in San Paulo, I flew into Manaus, the capital of the Amazon region in Brazil. Then a short drive for an hour, followed by a two-hour boat trip on the Rio Preta da Eva, a tributary of the Amazon River, saw me arriving at our jungle lodge. The main thing that struck me in my time in the Amazon was the complexity of this environment. I have never been in an area where I have felt less knowing of a region; it was a very foreign reality.
At the lodge it was very fortunate to have as a guide a man by the name of Leandro. He is Brazilian but was born in the very north of the country, near the Guyana border. Guyana is an English-speaking country and Leandro went to school here, hence English was his first language. He was the oldest of 16 children and the only one in his family who had moved away from the area. He always had a sense of wanting to explore. It was a great privilege to hear his stories, and to understand and see the jungle through his eyes.
Leandro was able to point out and show things that I was totally oblivious to. One day whilst walking he stopped abruptly, indicated for us to be quiet and after a few minutes of silently staring at a pile of leaves suddenly plunged his hand into the leaves. He pulled out a baby 40cm snake, grasping it firmly by its head. This was no ordinary snake however but a Surukuku or Bush Master, the most deadly snake in the whole of South America. Similarly, one night when we were out alligator spotting, Leandro allowed the canoe to quietly drift up to the bank, in pitch-black darkness, and after a moment or two of observation, thrust his hand into the water and pulled up a baby alligator.
There were many wonderful things that I learnt from Leandro, such as understanding that in the jungle the hunting animals all have their time for hunting. For the jaguar, the king of the South American jungle, it’s between 11pm and 1am. We found ants that you could crush and smear over your skin that would repel mosquitos; sap from one of the trees that could be lit and burned bright, light like a candle; a semi-hollow species of tree that you could hit as a means of communicating from one to another. Passing one hole in the ground Leandro stopped, stripped the leaves off a young plant stem, rubbed the stem under his armpit to give it a good meaty smell and stuck the stem down the hole. A few seconds later a huge crab spider came out after it, sensing the fleshy aroma. Leandro grabbed it making careful that the sac at the base of its belly couldn’t squirt any powder,
used to paralyse its prey, onto him. Mind you, its monstrous fangs were more intimidating to me. There were other spiders he caught which he told us if we were bitten by, would make us very sick for weeks, whereas it would only affect him for a couple of days! Leandro saw himself very much as the Steve Irwin of Brazil. We were shown and taught about many bush foods and medicines. Within the Amazon jungle exist, or did exist before man interfered with it, all the medicines that we need to treat the illness of humankind. Currently thousands and thousands of tonnes of rainforest plants are shipped to Western countries to be made into drugs that treat conditions ranging from infectious diseases and heart disease to cancer and mental illness. They are also used in anaesthetics, contraceptives and muscle relaxants.
Even though it is being rapidly destroyed for short-term greed there is a harmony and balance that you get in the jungle. Gaia certainly won’t let that balance and harmony be lost. It was very disturbing to see the areas that have been cleared, as there is much illegal logging and farming. Disturb the fragile relationships between the soil, vegetation, climate, animals and other factors and the jungle has problems sustaining itself. Local families are given 5 acres (2 hectares) and allowed to clear 1 acre a year – usually to grow the staple crop manioc. After being farmed for a couple of years, 1 acre is abandoned, so that it can be reclaimed by the forest before the soil becomes exhausted. Leandro came close to being killed for attempting to expose some of the illegal logging. The authorities in Manaus often won’t travel very far to see and investigate such logging. When not guiding in the jungle, Leandro works in Manaus, initiating programs for under-privileged children and teaching them conservation as well as recycling, to both help the environment and to generate money for the children to help improve their futures. He also coaches and mentors a soccer team of young boys, most without parents.

From the lodge we would go on walks or boat trips each day – there are no cars; transportation is only via the river or by foot. We saw some amazing birds and fish that live in the Amazon, though not all of the 900 and 2500 different species respectively existing there – not to mention the terrestrial species. We were also fortunate that the Rio Negro is quite acidic due to leaf litter and consequently doesn’t have as many problems with mosquitoes as the other river in the region, the Rio Solimoes, which is more alkaline and faster flowing. The two rivers meet just past Manaus, one milk coffee coloured the other jet black, and it take 10 kilometres before they mix and merge together to become one, the Amazon. At its mouth this river is 300 kilometres wide. The energy of the Amazon is creative, productive, diverse and clear; it has balance; there is no clutter in the jungle. It exists without the ‘shoulds’ and the ‘musts’ or conditions of civilisation. The trappings fall away in the jungle; it’s basic; you can see what is for what it is.
Leaving the lodge we returned to Manaus then crossed the Rio Negro in a large car/passenger ferry. We continued driving until reaching the town of Nova Airum to see the pink dolphins, one of the main focuses of our journey. A local woman, Marilda, has for many years been championing their cause and carrying out a marvellous job protecting them. She has saved many from the fishermen’s nets, and now a number of young ones are being born into the pod.
Pink dolphins are found in only one other area in the world. This is in China near the Laotian border; there they have a very short snout and are a much smaller dolphin. The Brazilian species can grow up to 6–8 feet (2–2.5 metres) in length. With the dark black water where you can’t see more than a foot or two in front of you, it’s obvious that these animals don’t require or use their tiny bead like eyes for hunting. However this doesn’t stop the Asian demand for their eyes as medicine, in the belief that they will restore ailing sight and they fetch a high price on the black market. There is similar demand for the pink dolphin’s penis for use as an aphrodisiac. Marilda in fact was running for election on the local council while I was there, on the platform of protecting the dolphins. Earlier there had been a great deal of opposition to what she was attempting to do. Being a fishing community, many people were afraid and angry that they might lose some of their livelihood and Marilda has received a number of death threats for her work in trying to safeguard the dolphins, even though they are a protected species. It is not only the money to be made selling dolphin parts on the black market that attracts the attention of some fishermen but also because their strongly flavoured flesh makes very good bait.
Currently there are up to 16 of these beautiful pink dolphins locally, which during the day can be encountered around Marilda’s houseboat, which is moored on the banks of the Rio Negro. You can feed, communicate and swim with them. They are very affectionate, playful and not averse to being hugged or even giving short rides sometimes. It was great having a number of days just being in the water with them; they are very special beings.
It would have been far easier to have been able to make the Amazon Essence near the lodge where we first stayed as there were many pristine locations within walking distance from there. However the message was to make it when based in Nova Airum. The challenge was that accessing a secluded pristine environment required a boat and knowledge of the river and area. The jungle, though exceptionally beautiful, was very thick and virtually impassable. Fortunately Marilda knew of a special isolated location that she suspected would be ideal and where only local people had permission to enter. She kindly offered to take me there and drop me off, In fact she took us on a number of boat trips to quite spectacular areas in the archipelago – the world’s largest – over the coming few days. Where I was dropped off, on a bend in the river, the whole jungle behind me was impenetrable, yet there was a very small, narrow strip of sand on one bank where I could prepare the Essence in sunlight. This spot had a tremendous sense of lightness and peace and it was certainly very isolated. In my four hours alone there I was aware of only one or two other boats travelling in the distance on a different fork of the river.
While watching the river flow by I experienced great gratitude for both my life generally and how my work in making this Amazon Essence was being so wonderfully supported with everything falling perfectly into place. I didn’t have a great deal of time and after my meditation I quickly started preparing the Essence. Whilst there I kept thinking of Herman Hesse’s book, Siddhartha, and the boatman. Travelling along that river, going with the gentle breeze, were wave after wave of light green butterflies, passing by at a rate of approximately a hundred per minute. Thousands passed during that time. I wondered where they were going to and where they would end up.
On leaving Brazil I travelled to Argentina, China and Europe before returning home, all the time with the mother tincture swaddled in towels for safe travelling. Staying with my friends and Swiss distributors Jorg and Renate, they could sense a tremendously strong energy that I had brought in with me, into their house in my luggage, without even knowing what it was. It is a very potent remedy.
Amazon Essence
One of the main aspects of the Amazon Essence is its ability to help you be aware of, tune into, understand and prepare for the immensity and the totality of the massive changes that are happening in nature. The Essence is like a road map to help you understand the new changing landscape. Currently vast energy is being released, especially in the Amazon, as part of the awakening of Gaia. It This is creating an upsurge of energy across the whole planet, a movement trying to re-connect with spirit.
Gaia’s releasing of old, stored energies is a resurgent power coming from deep within the Earth. It is terrifying but also represents that primordial aspect of the Earth that the Amazon is. The Amazon Essence is helping to activate our brain to function in new ways and for our senses to perceive afresh, enabling us to comprehend and interpret all the new energies and the language of what is happening in the world. The remedy assists us to re-align to these new energies being unleashed and coming up from the rocks, the water, the Earth and from the trees. It is similar to the Merlin legend where the wizard was trapped in the trunk of a tree. Now is also the time for sacred sites and portals on the Earth which have been closed down for a long time to open and be released, along with a releasing of the memories of very ancient beings that have been held in nature. This is liberating a great deal of stored knowledge, energy and information. Many of the native shamans know their cycle is ending, where the knowledge they had to share has been shared. They are seeing the young children now coming through, talking of and sensing things that they have no knowledge of. Gaia is releasing the next level of wisdom. This is what the new children are tapping into and will bring through as well.
Ever since the Atlantean time, the Elemental Kingdom has been withdrawn from humanity. This has been a missing link in a natural cycle of the Earth. There has been little energetic connection at a conscious level with humanity ever since that time when the Elementals were seduced and corrupted by humans, using them to achieve their own ends. The connection was broken for the benefit of the elemental beings.
Gaia is now once again allowing the elemental energies to be felt, heard and sometimes even seen. For many people it is a feeling of sensing something is different; they feel better and are having an altered sense of connection to nature. Due to this freeing of the elemental energy there is a conscious stimulation within the awareness of people of the beauty of where they live and where they travel. Very busy people, their eyes often on the ground, are receiving a gentle prod to look around them. Gaia is giving them stimulation to bring their focus back towards nature. The Amazon Essence assists our connection to the Elementals and the natural world. One of the benefits too of the cooperation of the humans and elementals is that new energy sources are likely to be remembered.
For most of us, these new energies are very unfamiliar, but this remedy helps us to perceive the ‘landscape’ of the new energies and changes. If an ancient person from the Stone or Iron Age came alive today, their energy would be totally different to the energy in us. This is what is being liberated now – old energies, very primordial energies. This is a link back to the time before humans, before life. This energy that is being let loose is very strong and very different to what we are used to. The whole intelligence of the Earth has changed.
The Amazon Essence will help a human being to speak the language of nature and know the language of the elements of Gaia. The pulsing heart of the planet is getting stronger and this remedy is helping us to feel and be aligned to it.
The Amazon Essence allows one to access a doorway to consciousness that is beyond matter.
In contrast, the Arctic Essence takes a person out of matter, like entering spirit, but then going back into matter; it is an energy that is temporary, not sustainable – a breathing space, but very potent. When you go beyond matter then you step into the expansion of all that is, you can feel it, be activated by it and hold it. To be able to go beyond matter you have to discard everything that you have attached to, and understood whom you are and be ready to commence the service to others, all of which expands your own light.
The Amazon Essence allows you to be in the world but not of the world. This Essence can help a person move through the dimensions but not be attached to the dimensions of matter. It allows you to flow more easily through life, to be effective and active but not attached on the emotional or mental level to the appearance of what is, but rather, to understand the significance of what is. In this state one builds up the aura of love and acceptance and this is where humanity is moving towards.
The following testimonial from Séamus Murphy is indicative of the Amazon Essence moving you beyond matter. ‘When taking the Essence I felt like I was in the middle of the river and after each dose I went deeper in the river. I always felt very calm. Eventually I entered into the riverbed, then finally became the ocean at the mouth of the Amazon. I experienced a tremendous freedom and huge expansion, a rebirth and it was very visual too.’
This too is the experiences of Gai Hammond. The first time she took the Amazon Essence she wrote: ‘It took me to the edge of the vastness of the possibilities of the new vibration of Earth.’ After taking a second bottle of the Essence, Gai wrote; ‘…took me into the experience (knowingness) of the vastness of the possibilities (soul level) offered to the planet and my soul from this moment on. The Amazon Essence holds the all pervasive knowledge of possibilities for each and every soul’s choice on our soul’s journey.’ She told me it connected to her experience of the Antarctic Essence where the stillness attained with that Essence led her to seeing her whole soul’s journey over lifetimes. The Arctic Essence was needed to complete the experience.
The Amazon Essence also activates the built-in will to appreciate and protect all life. It activates the divine feminine within us by bringing in the stillness and calmness; the energy of harmlessness, to live in community for the benefit of all. This Essence can be particularly effective to help people to work constructively and creatively to bring about environmental balance and harmony. It encourages people to be aware, to work together as a community, to respect others, one’s community and the planet. Yet it also activates the divine masculine, which is the celebration of life itself, the joy of being alive for what life is – the flame, vitality and enthusiasm beyond the trappings and the conditions of life.
This Essence encapsulates the desire for life not just mere existence. In today’s financial circumstances people are bracing themselves to see how bad it will get, how they will cope, wishing just to survive. One of the great positives from this economic situation is that governments everywhere are trying to find global solutions with a genuine global community effort, not an insular national effort. Both this co-operation and the collapse of the old financial model are crucial landmarks for the raising to a higher consciousness of the planet and her human inhabitants. The Amazon Essence is a pivotal transformational remedy easing one from the old dynamic to the new. Connecting us back to the energy and wisdom of Gaia, having the will to honour and respect her and others too, without this there is only chaos. Whilst preparing the Essence these lyrics from a Bob Dylan song (Shelter from the storm) kept whirring through my mind: ‘come in I’ll give you, shelter from the storm’. The choice to live with less or more conflict with nature is ours.
It is very exciting time that we are on the threshold of and the Amazon Essence is a valuable tool that we can use to help make it a smooth transition.
Much Love, Light and Respect
Ian
