Metaphysics of Summer

Metaphyscially, Summer is the time of Harvest. The manifestation of what has been sown, germinated and nurtured from the Winter and the Spring.

A poor harvest brings with it fear and apprehension about the future – Dog Rose – and feelings of struggle and difficulty – Sunshine Wattle – or if a very poor yield then even despair – Waratah.

Whereas an abundant harvest will help to bring about a sense and promise of an easier time ahead. Where, now that survival is more assured, the option and potential to expand, to plan and carefully open new possibilities and frontiers arises.

For there to be an abundant harvest will require group effort, co-operation and synergy – Yellow Cowslip Orchid: Slender Rice Flower.

Though no matter what the harvest there still remains the aura of and need to conserve. Summer is very much in the energy of the future. There can often be too little time given to celebrate and relax after the harvest – Little Flannel Flower, as the focus quickly turns to achieving order again. The anxious desire to store, count and distribute quickly emerges – Bush Fuchsia: Jacaranda.

Air is the element of summer, and during this time nesting comes to an end, the young leave and maturity commences – Bottlebrush.

Summer is to know and sense the future. At the beginning of Summer, 22nd December in the southern hemisphere, or the 21st June in the northern hemisphere, an ideal way to attune to the new season and the element it is aligned to – in this case the element of Air, I would recommend you take a 2 week dose of the Air Essence from the White Light Essence range. Even if you miss the beginning of the season, it is still beneficial to take the Air Essence at some point during the summer months.
